Job description

The IT Hardware Sales Support Specialist will provide critical support to the sales team by managing the sales process from start to finish. This role involves coordinating with customers, sales representatives, and vendors to ensure smooth transactions, timely deliveries, and excellent customer service. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of IT hardware, strong communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Sales Support:

    • Assist the sales team with quoting, order processing, and product inquiries.
    • Prepare and follow up on sales quotations made for clients, negotiating terms with clients.
    • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of IT hardware products, services, and promotions.
  • Customer Relations:

    • Respond to customer inquiries regarding product availability, pricing, and technical specifications.
    • Handle customer issues, complaints, and returns professionally, escalating as needed.
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers to ensure repeat business.
  • Order Management:

    • Process sales orders, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
    • Coordinate with logistics and warehouse teams to ensure timely delivery of products.
    • Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with procurement to manage stock levels.
  • Documentation & Reporting:

    • Maintain accurate records of sales transactions, customer interactions, and inventory.
    • Prepare regular sales reports for management, highlighting key metrics and trends.
    • Ensure all sales activities are compliant with company policies and procedures.
  • Technical Support:

    • Provide basic technical support and guidance to customers and the sales team.
    • Collaborate with technical teams to resolve customer issues or provide product recommendations.
  • Product Knowledge:

    • Stay informed about the latest trends and developments in IT hardware.
    • Attend training sessions, vendor meetings, and product demonstrations to enhance product knowledge.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Technology, or related field preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience in IT sales support, customer service, or a related role.
  • Strong knowledge of IT hardware products such as servers, storage devices, networking equipment, and peripherals.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, CRM software, and order management systems.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with ERP systems and inventory management.
  • Technical certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Cisco CCNA) are a plus.
  • Knowledge of market trends and competitive products in the IT hardware sector.

Work Environment:

  • Office-based with occasional travel to customer sites or vendor meetings.
  • May require working additional hours during peak sales periods.
